I tried to imagine…a life with you just here…
after all I had been waiting…for you alone my dear
and now that you’ve arrived…and you’re in my arms to stay
it’s everything I imagined…in every single way.
Today I had the sweetest of sweet sweet girls in the studio and there were so many moments that I was sure my heart was literally going to explode.
I’ve known today’s mumma for a long time and to say we have all been patiently waiting for this little love since before she was even a twinkle in her mumma’s eye is an understatement. It’s always the most amazing complement when people choose me to capture special memories for their family, even more so when it is a friend.
(I just have to add…Elsie is named after her great grandma, Elsie Mae…who in turn was named after her mumma, Elsie Violet and I just adore that Sally and Chris have decided to bring back such a beautiful tradition…it doesn’t get any more special than that).
Now for anyone hanging out on facebook you would have seen a little live video from this set up. When Elsie’s mumma asked for a beautiful collection of burgundy’s, pinks and white’s this set up filled my heart immediately. This gorgeous dusty pink vintage lace doily was handed down to me from a family friend and I just love the history that it brings to a little girl newborn session. There’s something that fits so perfectly with it’s delicate details and those of a beautiful new baby girl. And can I add…these colours went absolutely perfectly with little Elsie’s gorgeous features.
(Knit bonnet from Little Doe, tieback from Shooting Stars Photography Props) Can I get a little oh em gee….how divine is Elsie in this gorgeous flower nest. This custom tieback from My Vintage Girl was what inspired me for Elsie’s entire session and fit perfectly with mumma’s colour requests.
Ok…I just have to say it…everyone needs a pom pom beanie and this hat is life! I also had this custom made for Elsie from Never Forget Knits and Photo Props and whipped up the knit blanket for her myself…does it get any better?
I think this is my favourite new photo…Elsie was the most settled and sweet just snuggled up in this little basket. And how stunning is this flower crown from Gumnutandbloom Photo Props.
Snug as a bug…Elsie just loved being snuggled up like this, I think it made her feel like being back in her mumma’s tummy!
I do not think there was a dry eye with this set up…the most lovely of sisters. Addison was absolutely darling with her baby sister, by far the most well behaved sibling I’ve ever had in the studio. And if I didn’t think my heart was exploding with love at this very moment….when Addison added her favourite thing about her baby sister was the way she smelled literally had us all sobbing. This moment right here needs to be etched in their parents hearts for eternity…and how lucky am I to be able to witness it and capture it for them.
Everything that is divine about a new baby girl…rosy cheeks, pouty lips, dainty little fingers and toes….nawwww….
I love it when families bring something special to their session and this stunning blanket was no exception, passed down through the generations of Elsie’s family and now snuggling her. Such a special tradition.
Oh Elsie, you are so lovely.
And last but not least…a true celebration of the most divine sisters a mumma and papa could ever hope for.
Sally and Chris I could not be more honoured that you chose me to capture your newest little love.
Addison, you are already the best big sister a little bubba could hope for and I can’t wait to watch the two of you grow together.
Elsie you are all kinds of lovely and my heart is filled with joy after spending the day with you.x.
