On the day you were born (Too little, too soon)…
I laid in denial, until about noon…
One the day you were born, I prayed & I cried…
For the baby I needed, to stay safely inside…
On the day you were born, four months before due…
Your heart rate kept dropping (Mine kept dropping too)…
On the day you were born, I wore a fake smile…
(Pretend to be happy, you’re meeting your child)…
I walked to your NICU, to my delayed joy…
Yes you were really little, but MY little boy…
You waved a small hand, calling for me to take it…
From that moment on, I knew you would make it…
I sat there for hours, committed to see…
Just a hint of a miracle, waiting for me…
We were in this together, on a journey to grow…
My brave little warrior, I love you, you know.

Today I had someone extra special in the studio…a brave little warrior that has fought many battles just to be here today. And…on his 157th day of life…now home with his Mumma and Papa…he came to the studio for some snuggles and maybe a few cute pics! Ill let his Mumma share their story…
We found out at 22 weeks that I had gone into early labour. While on hospital bed rest to try and keep Harry in, my waters broke. As the clock hit midnight, I remember celebrating with my partner that we made it to 24 weeks – viability, while we were in a birthing suite ready to head in for an emergency c section. In total, Harry spent 113 days in the NICU, a world we were never prepared for. There were many tough days that we never thought we’d made it through. The first time I saw Harry I never thought we would come this far, part of me never thought we’d even leave the hospital. He has battled through so much that not many people would ever experience in their life. We am so proud of how far he has come and the journey we have gone on as a family. From a tiny 700 grams to now nearly 5kg, Harry continues to grow and show us his strength and determination each and every day.
World…Meet Harry…He’s (Kind Of) New Here.x.
Now it’s not every day you can go to your newborn session and the photographer can take out your feeding tube and your oxygen for cute pics then put it all back on before you go home…the joys of wearing two hats…I think Harry was pretty happy for some tube free time…wouldn’t you agree?
Look at those pudgy little fingers and all those cheeks and chins…he worked hard for those!!
Harry’s nursery is Australiana theme so we had to sneak a few Aussie friends in there…
And Mumma loved these soft greens…of course Harry looked adorable!
Ok…who caught the most adorable live of this set up…does it get any cuter? This set up was exactly what came to mind when Mumma mentioned his nursery to me and I am so excited it turned out perfectly!
The sweetest little koala bear there ever was…
And this last image shows a collection of all of Harry’s little keepsakes from his journey through the NICU…the smallest of nappies, blood pressure cuff’s and hat and his snuggly little cuddle heart that got him through many challenging times.
Sweet Harry it was such an honour to see you today and see just how far you’ve come from those very small beginnings.x.
