Hold her hand…kiss her face…
Snuggle, cuddle and embrace…
Memorize her little girl ways…
Be thankful for her everyday…
A baby girl is a dream come true…
A precious gift given to you…
Heavenly joy sent from above…
Sweet baby girl now yours to love.
Oh my goodness this session has been long in the making. I first met this sweet girl almost 10 months ago when I was caring for her and her Mumma and Papa in the NICU…boy oh boy was she feisty! The strongest personality you ever did see in such a tiny package. We had hoped to have her in the studio for ‘newborn’ photo’s when she finally was strong enough to come home from the NICU but between covid and well life, time got away from us. Then we booked her in around 9 months and although she made it to the studio this time she wasn’t feeling very well and ended up having a tepid bath and some panadol instead of cute pics! Sadly she also ended up in hospital unwell so we held off until she was feeling better. We rescheduled again and then of course Brisbane went into a snap lockdown….but finally…she made it today. And of course, it was completely worth the wait! She is literally a little doll…those divine big blue eyes that you could completely get lost in and I am happy to report she has NOT lost her little attitude and she gave me lots of sass! I’ll let Mumma share their story and I’ll add some adorable pics along the way.
World….Meet Dorothy…She’s (kinda) New Here!
After years of being told we would struggle to conceive due to medical conditions for both of us, Dorothy is our little rainbow baby. Dorothy was ready for this world before we were. Born at 28 weeks and 6 days due to mum having severe pre-eclampsia. At 933 grams (2lb 1oz) we had a small but sassy little girl. From day one Dorothy was fighting hard and winning hearts. This girl knows what she wants and isn’t letting anything stand in her way. Her first 97 days were in hospital, NICU and SCN, where she gained strength, graduated from CPAP to high flow and then low flow. She has since weaned off the oxygen support and is growing well. Some of her favourite things are bath time, trying new foods, swimming, giving kisses and now trying to crawl!
Gorgeous Dorothy…the brightest of rainbows…born after her sibling that didn’t make it earthside and also her sweet twin that I just know lives on in her heart. Two little butterflies to honour their spirits always by Dorothy’s side.
This special set up was just for Mumma who initially asked for autumn tones…mustards and maroons….then Papa changed his mind!
Now Papa wanted blue’s, greens and greys and while I’m an autumn colour kind of gal…these colours with Dorothy’s enormous blue eyes was everything.
A sweet smile and then look at that attitude! She was like…lady…why are you putting me in this baby bed!! I’m a big girl!
Oh Dorothy….you are such a doll….
I love love love this sage green colour….
This adorable teeny tiny bunny was actually bigger than Dorothy when she was born…can you imagine?
Can I tell you the secret to what made Dorothy smile like this!….it was staring a photo of herself on the phone! Sassy right?
And how could we not include her gorgeous puppy…bought especially for her by her Great Grandpa! Besties already.
Oh Dorothy I am so glad you made it to the studio today…it absolutely fills my heart to see you doing so well…you are too cute for words! I just adore these mini sessions, you get to see so much personality and I love seeing teeny tinies get big and strong!
