We’ve fought a mighty battle

To have you here today…

We never knew we needed you…

We’ve come a long long way…

But Clementine you’ve filled our hearts…

A  miracle to love…

So happy that you’re here with us…

Sent from up above.

.x.

To see the strength and courage some families have to bring a miracle earthside is such an immense privilege, and for that I am eternally grateful. To witness that miracle…pure magic. I feel so lucky that I get to share in so many families journey’s and that I have the honour of sharing their stories with you all.

Today…a teeny tiny miracle came to the studio for snuggles and to capture some very special memories being made. Having her in the studio today filled my heart considering the journey her mumma and papa had to take to get her. I’ll let her mumma share their story below and I am sure you will all agree….she was meant to be here!

Clementine and her big brother Declan are both IVF babies. The 7 year age gap is due to Declan getting meningitis and losing his hearing at age 2. We almost lost Declan, but the miracle of antibiotics saved his life. And then the miracle of cochlear implants means that today he can speak and hear like any other 7 year old. Life after Declan’s illness became hectic and a whirl of auditory verbal therapies and speech therapy and audiology appointments and deaf playgroup and so on…. when Declan got to prep we finally started to think about babies again.

Back to IVF and lucky enough to fall pregnant first try… but I got very sick with rare complication called Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome. Spent 2 weeks in hospital, 4 nights in ICU, with multiple issues the most serious being kidney failure and lungs so full of fluid I was on high flow oxygen and even then could barely breathe. If I wasn’t pregnant I would have got better right away, so I was offered a termination and I said yes but ONLY if you need it to save my life, otherwise I will suffer through it. Luckily I started to improve and my pregnancy was able to be saved. Recovery has been long. It took me four weeks to be able to walk without assistance. I have had a blood clot, pleurisy, and a haematoma. I have been off work for my entire pregnancy.

Clementine arrived 3 weeks early via emergency caesarean, too eager to join us to wait any longer. She is perfect! Almost can’t believe everything I went through to bring her into this world, it’s all a distant memory now. We truly have two little miracle babies now.

World…Meet Clementine!

My gift to you from heaven…

My gift from up above…

A little boy to fill your heart…

A little girl to love.

Together we’re a family…

And I will watch you grow…

Although I am not with you…

My love for you will show.

On the 5th of October 2014 I had the immense privilege of sharing the journey of the sweetest family yet. I was chosen to capture memories of the most darling rainbow baby, sweet Oisin, in the path of the loss of his beautiful big sister Niamh on the 3rd of March 2012.

They shared their courage and their strength, and their beautiful story of Niamh in a very special blog post here (Niamh’s Story) and you all embraced them.

Niamh sent a beautiful rainbow all the way from heaven when Oisin arrived and now, magically, she has gifted their family again with a divine little girl.

A Rainbow Baby is a baby born after loss….a baby born after that rainbow is a Pot Of Gold.

Last month, Niamh sent a beautiful pot of gold…..world meet Aibhlinn (Pronounced Ayv-leen).

Newborn baby girl in cane basket wrapped in gold wool with gold tieback and gold butterfly laying on rainbow backdrop with rainbow beside herOver the weekend I had the absolute pleasure of having this sweet girl in the studio. Now Aibhlinn was in a bit of a hurry to get here, born at just 33 weeks, so she’s been safely growing big and strong in the nicu. Thankfully, although still a teeny tiny 2kg, she was well enough to come home to her family, and to join me in the studio to capture some special memories for her family.

Rose bud lips and a shock of dark hair, she was an absolute dream to have in the studio and I was so excited to meet her. She snuggled up & slept peacefully.

There was so much love in the room, I am sure Niamh was with us.

Newborn baby girl sleeping on teal blanket with teal knit wrap and bonnet Newborn baby girl sleeping on teal blanket with teal tieback Newborn baby girl on wooden floor in wood bowl with teal blanket and wrap and tiebackMumma loved teal’s and purples…I think both colours suited Aibhlinn perfectly, wouldn’t you agree?

Newborn baby girl in round wooden bowl with blue backdrop and pink and coral wraps with flowers and coral bonnetI just love it when families send me inspiration pics…sometimes its of the nursery, sometimes its just a colour swatch, but Aibhlinn’s mumma sent me this gorgeous navy, pink, coral and white print picture as something she loved…I hope I have done it justice in this sweet set up. I adore these colours, stunning combination for a little girl.

Newborn baby girl in wooden log bowl with knit blanket and blue wrap on wooden floorThis very special blanket was made especially for Aibhlinn’s big brother Oisin and I am so glad they brought it to the session so we could capture it with her too. What a special memory. It’s keepsake items like this that fill my heart…treasures that will be with this family forever.

Newborn baby girl sleeping on wooden floor in oval wooden bowl with yellow wrap and blanket and tiebackAnd this stunning wrap was just as special for different reasons (not just because its yellow and that’s my favourite colour!!)…this is a baby wearing wrap that Aibhlinn’s mumma had for her before she was even created. Not only will they have this image to look back on but also many beautiful memories of Aibhlinn wrapped to her mumma’s chest snuggled by her heart.

Newborn baby girl wrapped in olive wrap and tieback cuddling sibling brother wearing olive overalls on cream furAnd last but by no means least…the two special gifts that this family has received all the way from heaven.

Oisin…the most darling big brother who could not love his sweet baby sister Aibhlinn any more.

Carter family it was an absolute joy to have back in the studio again, you are all truly a blessing in my life and I am so grateful you choose me time and time again to capture your gorgeous family grow.

Niamh…thank you for bringing us all together.x.

I never knew I needed you…

and now I can not hide…

My heart it beats a million miles…

just when you are near…

My little love to have you now…

I hope you see my dear.

I grew up with Kelly and Greg so you can imagine how excited I was when they shared the news of a their new addition! I have been photographing their big girl Hannah since she was a teeny tiny newborn and today they all brought the most divine little baby girl into the studio!

I am always so grateful to be considered when families are looking for a newborn photographer but it’s the hugest honour when its your friends.

Sahara gave the best cuddles and we had to use a few tricks to convince her to take a little nap, but as you can see below…it was totally worth it!!

World….Meet Sahara

Hold her a little longer…

Rock her a little more…

Read her another story…

You’ve only read her four…

Let her sleep on your shoulder…

Rejoice in her happy smile…

She is only your little girl…

For such a little while.

Oh my heavens….the teeniest tiniest little princess came to visit us in the studio today and I very nearly kept her! Considering she was about the same size as my big boofers thigh (how is my own newborn 9 weeks now…sniff sniff sniff), this dainty little pink loveheart was complete and utter divine!

But…I think her mumma and papa may have something to say about that, or more so her twin big brothers who were beyond adorable with their new sister.

I can’t believe I first photographed the twins as newborns just over four years ago, and today they brought their newest addition to the studio to meet us.

I went to school with Emelia’s mumma back in the day and had the joy of photographing Lincoln and Joseph when they were teeny tiny boys, so you can imagine my excitement when Nicki got in touch to say they were adding a beautiful baby girl to their family. I am still officially on maternity leave but I couldn’t miss this very special session.

World….Meet Emelia

Newborn baby girl sleeping on purple blanket Newborn baby girl sleeping on purple blanket with purple wrap and bonnetSeriously, the prettiest little love you ever did see. “And then my breath caught in my chest….

and I fell into your eyes….

as you suddenly became the biggest piece of who I am”

What better way to take a brief break from maternity leave than to photograph the sweetest new addition this darling family.

I first met Clare & Adam back at the beginning of last year when I did a gift session for their beautiful rainbow baby Addison and I feel completely honoured that they chose to bring their new little miracle back to me today.

World….Meet Layla
